Surface Book Recovery Image Downloads
13 hours to download the Windows 10 recovery image for the Surface Book from Microsoft. Absolutely ridiculous as I'm on fiber.
Anyways, I've uploaded the recovery .zip to GDrive and will be sharing it via Resilio Sync (Bittorrent Sync) and a traditional torrent.
The file name is 'SurfaceBook_BMR_15_7.214.0.zip' and it's SHA1 hash is:

Hopefully this will help someone who's a desktop tech and doesn't have 12+ hours to wait for a recovery image to download.
Instructions for use:
Important Creating a recovery drive will erase everything that’s stored on your USB drive. Make sure to move anything you want to keep to another storage device before using your USB to create a recovery drive.
Step 1: Connect your USB drive to your Surface (use a USB 3.0 drive if you can). The USB drive should be at least 16 GB. If you have a Surface RT or Surface 2, 8 GB will work.
Step 2: In the search box on the taskbar, type recovery, and then select Create a recovery drive. You might be asked to enter an admin password or confirm your choice.
Step 3: In the User Account Control dialog box, select Yes.
Step 4: Make sure Back up system files to the recovery drive isn’t selected, and then select Next.
Step 5: Select your USB drive, and then select Next > Create. A number of files need to be copied to the recovery drive, so this might take a while.
Step 6: When it’s done, select Finish.

Step 7: Go back to the recovery image .zip file that you downloaded and open it.
Step 8: Drag the files from the recovery image folder to the USB recovery drive you created. Then choose to replace the files in the destination.
We're a mostly Dell shop, so I have limited experience or knowledge about the Surface Book, if someone knows any caveats or gotchas, please share them and I'll update the OP.
If the demand is high enough, I can create an .iso so those steps can be skipped.

Usually manufacturers only allow you to recover your system with the version of Windows that originally came with the device. In the case of Surface Pro 3 would be Windows 8.1, but Microsoft has now added a new recovery image that comes with Windows 10 too.

However, the company isn’t replacing the recovery image, instead users wanting to recover their tablets have the choice to download the image with either Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
The new recovery image featuring Windows 10 will really help Surface Pro 3 owners who have already upgraded, and if they need to recover their device, they don’t have to go through the upgrade process once more.

The new recovery image is available for download for any Surface Pro 3 owner through the Surface support center online, and here’s how you can get it.

At the Microsoft support page, sign-in to with your Microsoft Account, and register your Surface Pro 3 if you haven’t done it already. If you have already registered your tablet, it will appear in the list, select the device and click Continue.
You’ll now be given the choice to download two images: Surface Pro – Windows 8.1 or Surface Pro 3 – Windows 10. Click Download on the recovery image that feature Windows 10. It’s important that you don’t save it directly into a USB flash drive, you’ll need to save it to your Surface or another PC.
On “Step 3: Create the recovery drive”, the support page will provide all the instructions you need to follow to create a recovery drive. The process involves connecting a USB drive, formatting it to FAT32, and copy all the unzip files into the drive.

Once you have completed the process, you can use the recovery drive with the image to reset your Surface Pro 3 device to the default factory settings or to refresh your device. Microsoft has also documented the instructions to recover your Surface using a USB recovery drive.
