Superstar SMTown is a music game which puts your rhythm skills to the test as players are expected to hit the right notes at the right time in order to receive a high score and unlock more songs as the player progresses. With just 2 variations of notes to hit during each song, this game is easy to grasp for players of all ages. Play at your own pace with 3 different levels to choose from for each song
There are three modes for each song, namely Easy, Normal and Hard. Upon unlocking a new song, the player would need to complete the Easy mode before engaging in the Normal mode, and subsequently, the Hard mode. All the songs made available to the player are the hit songs from each SMTown artiste. The hottest and most popular artistes include BoA, Super Junior, Girl’s Generation, EXO, Red Velvet and many more.
Collect game cards of your favorite SMTown artistes to get more game points
Collect cards for grades ranging from C to R featuring the artistes from SM Entertainment (with C being the lowest rank and R being the highest rank after A). Upgrade the lower grade cards to improve the game scores by using the cards that you do not need as material cards to upgrade your main card. Having multiple artiste cards that are from the same era would give players the extra boost when playing songs of the particular Kpop group.

Compete with players from around the world
Compete with players in 15 different leagues in which they are grouped according to their ranks. Each player’s overall score on the leaderboard is determined by the sum of the Top 5 Best Scoring Songs for 5 unique artistes each week. The weekly ranking will be reset at the end of each week and players will be adjusted to other leagues depending on their performance. They will either move up to the next league (if they are ranked the top in their current league) or move down to the previous league (if they are ranked the bottom in their current league).

Special in-game currency
Rhythm Points are the official in-game currency for SuperStar SMTown that is used to power up or upgrade existing cards and buy new character card packs. These Rhythm Points can be obtained by playing the songs, selling unwanted cards, completing events or simply through the Attendance Calendar by logging in daily. Diamonds are the premium in-game currency in which players have to use real money to purchase. These Diamonds can be used to buy premium items such as card packs with higher ranked cards. Headphone points are used as energy tokens in the game. One will have to wait until the Headphone points recharge to be able to continue playing the songs after they run out.
Daily Rewards System
Log in to SuperStar SMTown daily to mark your attendance and claim rewards that will help you in your game. Get items such as rhythm points, diamonds, headphone points, and even high-ranked character cards! These rewards just get better and better!

Decrease your chance of failing an upgrade by choosing the right cards
Disclaimer: This is not the foolproof strategy. The below recommendation would decrease your probability of wasting your material cards.
Power up your main card to a 5-star card so that it can be leveled up to the next rank. To power up your main card (card to be upgraded), you will need to choose a card that is at least of the same rank (and star count) as the main card for the chance of success to be greater than 80%.
Once the star count is maximized, you will then be able to upgrade the card. Similarly, you will need to choose a material card to sacrifice to be able to upgrade your main card.
These are the conditions required to secure success in upgrading your main card:
- You will need to prepare another card with the same rank of max stars as your main card.
- The 2 cards can be of different themes but need to be from the same SMTown artiste.
- Certain character cards are further divided into categories such as Dance, Vocal and Rhythm. Hence, you will need to use 2 cards for the same artiste in the same category for the upgrade. For example, a 5-star A rank “Gemini” Taeyeon (Vocal) card is not recommended to be used as material card for 5-star A rank “Gemini” Taeyeon (Dance) card as they are of a different category.
Focus on 5 top songs that you excel in
Since a player’s overall score only comprises of their top 5 song scores each week, players who want to top the ranks in their league ought to focus and master their top 5 songs of unique artistes. For example, if one scored 50,000 points on Ice Cream Cake (Red Velvet), 80,000 points on Bad Boy (Red Velvet) and 40,000 points on Growl (EXO), the system will consider the points from Bad Boy and Growl for the player’s overall score and ignore the score from Ice Cream Cake even though it has a higher score than Growl, as both songs Ice Cream Cake and Bad Boy are by Red Velvet. Hence, a player should not play Ice Cream Cake, but instead, focus his efforts on pushing the points for Growl.
Aim to power up the character cards of the 5 artistes / groups to get score bonuses when playing their songs. Spending rhythm points on other artistes / groups would be a waste of resources if your objective is to top the global ranking.

This is my first time doing a tutorial so please don't comment too harshly :innocent:
The first time I heard there was a music app for Kpop—SM, I was hyped and had to download it immediately...
So I searched in the App Store, but to my surprise:
There wasn't any Kpop games, let alone an SM one...
So I searched the Internet and read forums and found the solution!
And here I am, sharing it so people can download this great game :blush:
Anyways, enough of this long introduction,

COMPLICATED PROCESS (iOS ONLY)
No need for a laptop.
If this is the first time signing into any account, you will CERTAINLY need a payment option. Since you are trying to make a Korean one, that's impossible right now so I recommend you skip to the next process. If you are also using an android, skip to the next process as well. Just look out for the :fire: emoji-line. You'll understand once you see it.

First, we're going to need to switch our regions because the app is in the Korean App Store, so, there are two methods:
Method 1
Skip to the bold text for Method 2
the easiest, but not recommended if there are any purchases and/or still money on your account, also if you own an Apple Music subscription.
Go into your settings and into iTunes & App Store
Then press on your Apple ID and tap view Apple ID. You will then be prompted to sign-in.
A page like this will appear. Press the Country/Region button.
Now, if you haven't read the little note underneath the title, here is your warning.
If you have a balance like me ($0.30 🙃), you will not be able to continue since this message will appear.
Fear not! The tutorial will still continue for this method!

The very time-consuming method, but it's for the best... and also if Apple is stingy af and still counts 30c as a 'valid balance'.
Go to the App Store and Sign Out from your account. Then press Sign In and Create a New Apple ID.

Then a page will appear. Scroll to the very bottom of the list, check 대한민국 and tap next. Agree to the Terms & Conditions (who reads those...)
Next is the billing... Just fill in what you need to. Next is the annoying part...
You'll have to rely on luck on this one as there is a chance where you don't need to provide a billing method, so just keep reloading the page (press back and next buttons) until you see a free option.
Now, I'm pretty lazy and since I'm not going to legitimately make another account, I'm not reloading for the free option... but that doesn't matter since I won't be showing my billing info anyways....
Fill in your info (make sure your age is 18+). For the address and phone number, follow the picture.
Now your account is set!
Just go to the search bar and type in 'Superstars SM' and download!

How Can I Download Superstar Smtown

Make sure to have the latest version of iTunes installed.
To start, you will need to authorise your computer.
Sign in with your Apple ID if you haven't already. Then go to Account > Authorisations > Authorise This Computer.
Then enter your password and press authorise.
My fingers are tired...
Next, connect your device. If you don't see a little faded device next to your small bar with options (10/10 explanation), unlock your device and press trust on whatever alert you get (something about a computer...)
Click the device button which should be where the eject button is on the picture if you are not viewing the device (which you aren't because you're reading this.)
Go to apps (circled). This should come up.
Now, drag your .ipa file into the circled area. It should have loaded like in the picture but yours should have Superstar SMTOWN on it.
Press install and apply/sync and you are done!
